The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lane scores with a head kick.
Kacaniklic throws a sloppy head kick
and Lane counters with a three punch combo that has Kacaniklic backing up. Kacaniklic nods at Lane to acknowledge the strikes.

Lane darts in and clinches Kacaniklic up against the cage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Lane prevents Kacaniklic from breaking the clinch.
Lane gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kacaniklic.
Lane lands a knee to the head.
Lane can't get the takedown.
Kacaniklic has had enough of the clinch but Lane keeps him there for the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Kacaniklic throws a left and a right that both miss

and Lane counters with a single leg into guard. Kacaniklic didn't expect that.

Lane decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kacaniklic, up you get!
No luck for Lane with that takedown attempt.
Lane chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Kacaniklic can pounce on him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
