Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Lauzon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derrick Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Joe Lauzon has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Joe Lauzon seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Lauzon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derrick Thomas!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lauzon fails with a takedown attempt.
Thomas clobbers Lauzon with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Thomas lands a left and a right that send Lauzon crashing to the mat, dazed. Thomas thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Lauzon is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Lauzon shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Thomas's guard.
Oh Lauzon is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lauzon stands up from Thomas's guard - Lauzon perhaps looking for a knockout.
Thomas lands a right hook to the body.
Lauzon seems to have got his legs back now.
Thomas dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Lauzon. That did some damage!
No joy there for Lauzon, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Lauzon is breathing heavily.
Sloppy strikes from Lauzon. Those never looked like landing.
Thomas scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Thomas is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Lauzon could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lauzon is not content to let Thomas control the position.
Thomas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lauzon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Thomas is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Thomas seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lauzon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

It looks like Thomas is going to stand back up.
Thomas winds up and cracks Lauzon with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Lauzon is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Thomas pulls his head out easily.
Thomas working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Thomas winds up and cracks Lauzon with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lauzon is refusing to be controlled, as Thomas sits in half guard.
Thomas uses his free foot to push down on Lauzon's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Lauzon.
Lauzon is in all sorts of trouble here.

Thomas loads up with a big shot that hurts Lauzon! He's pulled Thomas in close but Thomas has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Lauzon survive? More strikes from Thomas and Lauzon is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
