The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Thompson throws a low kick but Diaz avoids it.
Sean Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diaz takes a kick to the side of the head.

Diaz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Diaz prevents Thompson from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Diaz maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Thompson could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Diaz has cracked it and Thompson is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Diaz!
