Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Akiyama Shinichi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Akiyama Shinichi could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Manny Silva's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Fujiwara and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shinichi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shinichi off to one side.

Silva moves into the clinch.

Shinichi gets control of Silva's arms and successfully pulls guard. Shinichi will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Shinichi wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Silva is in all sorts of trouble here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Silva is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Shinichi here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Shinichi swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Silva is now in Shinichi's guard. A big mistake from Shinichi there, giving up the dominant position!

Silva is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Silva lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Shinichi is looking for a sweep. Silva is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Silva is looking to pass Shinichi's guard but actually Shinichi recovers to full guard.

Shinichi has his feet on Silva's thighs here. He's pushed Silva off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Silva screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
