Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rocky Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Connor!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Saam Ante.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connor has a takedown stuffed.

Patterson closes the distance and pushes Connor back into the cage.

Connor manages to break the clinch.
Connor slips a straight right by Patterson.
Connor fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Connor moves into the clinch successfully.

Connor has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Patterson uses from the top position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Patterson distracts Connor with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Patterson stands and steps away. Connor gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Patterson moves into the clinch.

Patterson has picked Connor up - he's going for a ride! Patterson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Patterson is looking for a kimura but Connor is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Patterson to get the leverage.

Connor is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Patterson thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Patterson is pressing down on Connor's thigh, looking to free his foot. Connor is holding on for now.
Patterson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Connor!
Connor is squirming around, avoiding Patterson's attempts to control the action.
Connor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Patterson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Patterson is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Connor has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Connor is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Connor is trying to escape the mount.
Connor regains half guard.

Patterson is looking for a kimura but Connor is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Patterson to get the leverage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Patterson is trying to control the action in half guard but Connor is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Patterson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Patterson thows a huge punch but Connor dodges it nicely.

Connor flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Patterson looks to land a strike but Connor avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Connor can do anything to dispel that myth.
Patterson wants to control from the top but Connor keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rocky Patterson dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Patterson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Patterson wants to stand but Connor is controlling the position.
Connor is fighting to break Patterson's control of his arms but Patterson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Patterson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Connor!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Connor can't escape the position.

Patterson throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Patterson misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Connor is trying to escape the mount.
Patterson thowing shots but they're missing.
Connor is trying desperately to improve position.
Patterson can't control as he wanted to and Connor manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

Patterson works his foot free and advances to mount.
Patterson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Connor is looking to escape.
Connor wants to hold on but Patterson pushes him away.
Connor takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Connor is in a horrible position here. Patterson smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Patterson looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Connor covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
