Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sid DiBiase (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuel Rowan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rowan is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Anthrax - I Am The Law. Samuel Rowan has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sid DiBiase!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Samuel Rowan!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rowan throws a head kick that misses.
Rowan misses with a leg kick.
DiBiase keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rowan scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Rowan throws a solid leg kick but DiBiase takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Rowan.

DiBiase rushes Rowan and presses him up against the cage.
Rowan goes for a takedown attempt but DiBiase pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Rowan throws an overhand right that lands on DiBiase's shoulder, as DiBiase tries to avoid the shot.
Rowan getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Rowan on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
DiBiase misses with an attempted mid kick.
Rowan needs to keep his hands up - DiBiase had a free shot at his head there.

Rowan shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

DiBiase is looking for a sweep. Rowan is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Rowan is looking to advance position but DiBiase won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rowan working over DiBiase with some ground and pound. DiBiase looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Rowan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed DiBiase's head.

Rowan wants to lay and pray for a moment but DiBiase keeps working.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
DiBiase throws a sloppy head kick and Rowan moves out of range easily.
Sid DiBiase is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Rowan rushes DiBiase and presses him up against the cage.

Rowan manages to pull guard.
Rowan is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Rowan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Rowan is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
DiBiase forces his way into half guard.

Rowan tries to roll over but DiBiase keeps him under control.
Rowan is looking to control DiBiase's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rowan avoid being mounted?
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with DiBiase in particular looking to stall.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

We're going to have a standup here because Sid DiBiase wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Rowan feints a jab promting DiBiase to slip. Rowan then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. DiBiase slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
DiBiase swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Nice sprawl there from DiBiase as Rowan shoots in.
DiBiase connects with an inside leg kick.
Rowan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says DiBiase as he avoids it easily.
Sid DiBiase has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Samuel Rowan.
DiBiase takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
DiBiase feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Rowan's calf.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

DiBiase moves in looking to clinch but Rowan pushes him off.
DiBiase throws the kick towards the body but Rowan avoids it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rowan takes a body punch but keeps moving.
DiBiase cracks Rowan with a right hand to the side of the head.
Sid DiBiase seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
DiBiase looks to land a combination but Rowan avoids it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sid DiBiase will probably get the nod.
That's time! DiBiase's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


DiBiase thows a body shot but no joy.
DiBiase lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

DiBiase gets caught flat footed, as Rowan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
DiBiase tries to land a sweep but no joy.
DiBiase trying to control the position.
Rowan postures up and lands a big shot to DiBiase's brow.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rowan's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
DiBiase looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rowan is one step ahead there.

Samuel Rowan has got the better of the ground game so far.

Rowan got a little sloppy there for a moment and DiBiase has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rowan has managed to get both his arms back between DiBiase's legs - danger averted.

DiBiase is looking for a triangle but Rowan pushes his legs off easily.
Rowan throws a strike but DiBiase rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from DiBiase.

That kick from DiBiase tenderised Rowan's leg. Rowan is trying to keep his angry face on.
DiBiase swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rowan shoots in but DiBiase avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Rowan throws a good cross that connects.
Rowan takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Rowan fails with a takedown attempt.

DiBiase throws a low kick but Rowan moves out of range easily.

Rowan looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
DiBiase tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rowan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Rowan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but DiBiase swivels and escapes.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Samuel Rowan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Rowan is fighting to break DiBiase's control of his arms but DiBiase is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

DiBiase trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

DiBiase is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
DiBiase is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Rowan wants to improve his position but DiBiase is controlling well.

DiBiase seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

DiBiase clobbers Rowan with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Rowan gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Rowan misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from DiBiase.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

This has been an exciting period of action!
DiBiase prevents a body shot from Rowan.
Rowan has DiBiase pressed against the cage.
DiBiase lands a nice elbow.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sid DiBiase.
I think DiBiase has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
