Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Killer Killerston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roby Robert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Killer Killerston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roby Robert!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Robert moves in looking to clinch but Killerston pushes him off.

Killerston shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Robert is trying to defend but Killerston finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Robert is trying to control but can't.
Killerston working Robert over with strikes.
Killerston knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Robert on the ground.
Robert has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Killerston is working away from the top position though.
Still in half guard, Killerston seems content to control.
Killerston tries to pass the half guard into mount. Robert knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Robert is trying to maintain the position but Killerston is very close to passing his half guard.
Killerston looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Killerston lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Robert on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Killerston in particular looking to stall.
Robert tries to get to full guard but Killerston has control of the leg.
Robert wants to control but Killerston is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Killerston tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Robert paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Robert shoots in and drives through. Killerston sprawls well.

Killerston shoots in and bounces Robert off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Killerston stands and throws Robert's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Robert is looking to regain half guard here but Killerston keeps moving and retains side control.
Robert takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Killerston decides to stand back up.
Robert looks for a takedown but Killerston sprawls well.
Killer Killerston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roby Robert.

Killerston closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Robert quickly recovers to half guard.

Killerston looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Killerston lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Killerston fails with a takedown attempt.

Killerston fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Robert sprawls well initially but Killerston persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Robert is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Killerston scores with a couple of nice shots.
Killerston throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Robert tries to roll over but Killerston keeps him under control.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Killerston in particular looking to stall.

Killerston seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Robert is breathing heavily.
Killerston looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Robert with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Killerston is taking a breather. Robert says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Killerston has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Killerston seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Robert for as long as he can get away with.

We're going to have a standup here because Killer Killerston wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Killerston closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Robert to the mat! Robert manages to get full guard.

Killerston drops back looking for a leg! Robert is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Robert manages to kick Killerston off! Killerston jumps back into Robert's guard.
Killerston wants to pass the guard but Robert is keeping the position.

Robert not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Robert wants to sweep here but Killerston controlling him for the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Robert has momentary wrist control but Killerston slips an elbow through the middle.

Killerston has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Robert is trying to keep an underhook but Killerston manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Killerston, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
