Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carter Wang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hamilton Bird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wang bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Bird is looking for a sweep.
Wang working the strikes but Bird uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Wang looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Wang wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bird keeps working.
Bird gets back to full guard.
Wang with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Bird bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wang's guard.

Wang pushes Bird off and gets back to his feet.

Bird moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Wang breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bird wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Wang fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bird looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Bird delivers a nice body kick.
Bird keeps the fight on the outside.
Bird jabs Wang right on the nose. Wang blinks but takes it well.
Bird shoots for a double leg takedown but Wang sprawls well. He's pushed Bird's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Carter Wang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hamilton Bird.

Wang is trying to work for a kimura but Bird is defending well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Bird manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Wang manages to get himself to full guard.

It looks like Hamilton Bird has been cut.
Bird should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Wang misses with a takedown attempt - Bird sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Wang closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bird did well to prevent Wang getting side control.

Bird lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Wang is trying desperately to improve position.

Bird wants to finish this one by submission but Wang is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Bird.

Wang is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Wang is wriggling around trying to escape.

Bird has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Wang's face.
Carter Wang has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
