The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nair showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Sanders.

Sanders closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Sanders is pressing down on Nair's thigh, looking to free his foot. Nair is holding on for now.

Sanders is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Sanders is trying to work for a kimura but Nair is defending well.
Sanders takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Sanders has control of Nair's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Nair regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Nair is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Sanders has taken his back.
Sanders is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Jones Sanders seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nair gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
