Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Seany Scholes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Cerrone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scholes's entrance music is Wonderwall - Oasis. A fine choice. Don Cerrone has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Don Cerrone!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Scholes fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Cerrone to the ground. Scholes is now in Cerrone's guard.
Cerrone keeping full guard, as Scholes tries to pass.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Scholes wants to control from the top but Cerrone keeps moving.
Cerrone is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Scholes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cerrone swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Scholes trying to control the position from guard on top but Cerrone is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Cerrone scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Scholes fails to land the takedown.
Cerrone slaps away a takedown attempt from Scholes, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A nice leg kick lands there from Cerrone.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Scholes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Seany Scholes. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cerrone defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Scholes.
Cerrone dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Scholes. That did some damage!
Cerrone tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Scholes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Scholes closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Scholes is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cerrone is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Scholes prevents Cerrone from escaping the position.
Scholes is looking to take a break and control but Cerrone is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Scholes tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Scholes has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Scholes swings around for an armbar but Cerrone sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Scholes's guard.

Scholes is working an open guard so Cerrone takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Scholes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cerrone tries to avoid it but Scholes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cerrone to the ground. Cerrone escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Scholes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cerrone as he avoids it easily.
Cerrone tries to clinch up.
Cerrone tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Scholes manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Scholes looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Scholes is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Cerrone is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Cerrone has escaped and now he's on top!
Cerrone tries to stand but Scholes is controlling from the bottom.
Cerrone won't allow Scholes to sweep him here.

Cerrone stands and steps away. Scholes gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Nice defenses there by Cerrone.

and Scholes counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Scholes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Scholes pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cerrone is keeping the position for now.

Cerrone pushes Scholes off and scrambles back to his feet.
Scholes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cerrone as he jumps to the side.
Don Cerrone is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Scholes feints and as Cerrone raises his hands in defense, Scholes changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Scholes tries to free his leg and advance position but Cerrone is retaining full guard.
Cerrone wants to stand but Scholes is controlling the position.
Scholes wants to get up but he can't break Cerrone's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Seany Scholes dominated that round.

Cerrone uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Scholes.
Scholes misses with a takedown attempt - Cerrone sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Cerrone throws a right and a left that both miss.
Scholes gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Cerrone counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Scholes wants to take the fight to the mat but Cerrone manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Scholes fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cerrone sprawls well initially but Scholes persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Cerrone makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Scholes chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Cerrone can pounce on him.
Scholes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Cerrone throws a low kick but Scholes avoids it.
Scholes displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cerrone throws out the jab.
Cerrone stuffs the takedown attempt from Scholes. Scholes gets slowly back to his feet.
A punch combination from Cerrone misses.
Cerrone lands with a nice body punch.

Cerrone manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Scholes shoots for a double leg takedown but Cerrone sprawls well. He's pushed Scholes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Seany Scholes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cerrone throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Cerrone is breathing heavily.
Cerrone doesn't manage to clinch there - Scholes circles away.

Cerrone tries to keep at a distance but Scholes has taken the fight into the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cerrone is trying to force a seperation but Scholes has the dominant position.

Scholes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Scholes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cerrone as he avoids it easily.
Cerrone is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Cerrone ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Scholes moves away.

Scholes drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Seany Scholes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Scholes goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Cerrone rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Scholes's guard! Nice work there by Cerrone!

Cerrone stands and steps away. Scholes gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Cerrone moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Scholes takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Cerrone stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cerrone wants it to stay on the feet.

and Cerrone makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Scholes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Scholes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Scholes can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Cerrone is looking to escape.

Scholes looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Scholes wants to take his opponent's back but Cerrone doesn't allow it.
Cerrone wants to get back to his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Scholes has hold of Cerrone's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Cerrone manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Scholes working for a guillotine from mount but Cerrone is in no mood to give up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Seany Scholes will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!



Cerrone closes the distance and clinches.
Scholes is looking for a takedown.
Scholes has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Cerrone avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Cerrone looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Cerrone stops a takedown attempt from Scholes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Seany Scholes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cerrone is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Scholes is keeping busy.
Cerrone lands a left hand.

Scholes wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cerrone keeps working.

Scholes is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cerrone knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Scholes goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Cerrone has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Scholes but great work by Cerrone.

Cerrone stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Scholes circles away from the clinch attempt.

Scholes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Scholes trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Scholes looking to sit in guard and control but Cerrone gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Cerrone must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Scholes is looking for a triangle but Cerrone pushes his legs off easily.
Scholes controls Cerrone momentarily but Cerrone frees himself.

Scholes looking for subs off his back but Cerrone has passed one foot through into half guard.
Scholes is trying to stand up here but Cerrone is controlling him well.

Cerrone decides to stand up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Cerrone looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Cerrone doesn't manage to clinch there - Scholes circles away.
Cerrone feints a jab promting Scholes to slip. Cerrone then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Scholes slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sloppy strikes from Cerrone. Those never looked like landing.
Seany Scholes is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Cerrone takes the fight into the clinch.
Cerrone tries to work over Scholes's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Scholes takes a knee right on the jaw!
Don Cerrone has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Cerrone throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Scholes avoids the elbow strike from Cerrone, against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Don Cerrone.
I think Scholes has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Seany Scholes spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
