Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pekka Topohanta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Topohanta might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to DJ Proteus : Illuminati. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dean shoots in looking for a takedown but Topohanta manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dean's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Topohanta is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Dean unloads with some shots from mount but Topohanta bucks and avoids them well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like Pekka Topohanta has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dean misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Max Dean seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Topohanta tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Topohanta stuffs the takedown attempt from Dean. Dean gets slowly back to his feet.
Dean closes this distance looking for a takedown but Topohanta circles away.
