PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Les Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krilich Berglomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Berglomi's choice of entrance music: Fat Boy Slim-Push The Tempo. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Les Paul!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Krilich Berglomi!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berglomi fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Berglomi lands with a kick to the temple. Paul shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Berglomi manages to break the clinch.
Paul throws a sloppy head kick and Berglomi moves out of range easily.
Paul shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Berglomi defends it nicely.

Paul closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Berglomi's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Berglomi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Paul is controlling him.
Paul wants to control from the top but Berglomi keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Paul is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Berglomi has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Paul is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Berglomi is defending well though. Paul let's go of the attempt for now.

That was a close round but I would say that Les Paul will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Paul changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Berglomi tries to avoid it but Paul manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Berglomi to the ground. Berglomi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Paul changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Berglomi looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That was a close second round but I would say that Les Paul will probably get the nod.

Paul seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Berglomi for as long as he can get away with.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Les Paul.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Paul, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
