Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Roger De La Hoya!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Oscar Salcedo!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Franklyn Lucas and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Salcedo misses with a looping right.
Salcedo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but De La Hoya manages to avoid it.
Salcedo throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
De La Hoya misses with a wild body shot.
De La Hoya keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
De La Hoya throws a sloppy head kick and Salcedo moves out of range easily.
Salcedo cracks De La Hoya with a right hand to the side of the head.


It looks like Roger De La Hoya has been cut.
Salcedo cracks De La Hoya with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
De La Hoya tries to land a leg kick but Salcedo saw it coming and moves away.
Salcedo paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
De La Hoya slips a jab and a cross from Salcedo.
De La Hoya throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Salcedo drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Salcedo looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
You can see the frustration on De La Hoya's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

De La Hoya gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
De La Hoya slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Salcedo wants to control from the top but De La Hoya keeps moving.
De La Hoya has momentary wrist control but Salcedo slips an elbow through the middle.
Salcedo postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Salcedo is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! De La Hoya is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! De La Hoya has escaped and now he's on top!
De La Hoya will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Salcedo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
De La Hoya won't allow Salcedo to sweep him here.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
De La Hoya has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Salcedo is proving hard to escape from.
Salcedo wants to sweep but no luck.
De La Hoya is pushing down on Salcedo's leg trying to pass to half guard. Salcedo is fighting to maintain full guard but De La Hoya has managed to sneak the leg through.

De La Hoya wants to pass to mount but Salcedo is defending the position.
Salcedo keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Salcedo is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of De La Hoya's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take De La Hoya's back!
