Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Devon Destroyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roberts has chosen Pain as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Carl Roberts enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Destroyer tries to land a leg kick but Roberts saw it coming and moves away.
Destroyer misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Roberts.
Destroyer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Roberts swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Roberts closes this distance looking for a takedown but Destroyer circles away.
Destroyer misses with a looping left.

Destroyer closes the distance and clinches.
Destroyer pushes off an throws an elbow but Roberts leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Destroyer swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Roberts shoots for a takedown but Destroyer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Destroyer throws a series of punches but Roberts moves out of range.
Destroyer looks to land a combination but Roberts avoids it well.

Destroyer goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Carl Roberts has been cut.
Destroyer throws a lazy right hand but Roberts sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Devon Destroyer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Destroyer swings for the body but Roberts moves out of range.
Destroyer misses with a wild combination.

Roberts slips a jab and a cross from Destroyer.

Destroyer's corner calls for a 1-2. Destroyer obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Destroyer wants to clinch.
Destroyer throws a right and a left that both miss.
Roberts checks the leg kick.
Destroyer fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Roberts manages to avoid it.
Destroyer does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Destroyer has taken the fight to the clinch.

Roberts turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Roberts manages to end up in side control.
Roberts tries to advance to mount but Destroyer instead regains half guard.

Roberts is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Destroyer doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Roberts.

Roberts seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Roberts wants to work for an arm triangle but Destroyer is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Roberts is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Destroyer reverses the position - he's now on top in Roberts's guard.
Destroyer is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Destroyer's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Roberts closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Destroyer throws a leg kick which misses Roberts's front leg but catches the back leg as Roberts tries to avoid it.

Destroyer gets caught flat footed, as Roberts shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Roberts has gone for a leg lock! Destroyer slips out almost immediately though and dives into Roberts's guard.

Roberts is breathing heavily.

Destroyer tries to stand but can't do so whilst Roberts controls his leg.
Destroyer perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Roberts tries to roll over but Destroyer keeps him under control.

Destroyer gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Destroyer gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Roberts is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Destroyer is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Destroyer has escaped and now he's on top!
Destroyer content to stall in guard here.

Destroyer wants to pass the guard but Roberts is keeping the position.

Roberts had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Destroyer is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Roberts Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Destroyer's back instead.

Roberts is looking for the choke from the back position but Destroyer is controlling his hands well.

Roberts is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Destroyer knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Destroyer for a finish.

Destroyer looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Roberts is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Destroyer is defending well though. Roberts let's go of the attempt for now.

Roberts is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

That was a close second round but I would say that Devon Destroyer will probably get the nod.

and Roberts counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Roberts stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Destroyer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Roberts wants to pass the guard but Destroyer is keeping the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Roberts working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Destroyer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Destroyer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Roberts can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Destroyer controls the pace.
