The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Samuels displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mola.

Mola shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Samuels has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mola is working away from the top position though.
Mola knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Samuels on the ground.

Samuels is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mola pulls his head out easily.
Samuels tries to roll over but Mola keeps him under control.
Mola trying to pass the guard but Samuels defending well.
Mola looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Samuels with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Samuels is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mola pulls his head out easily.
Mola lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mola wants to pass to mount but Samuels is defending the position.

Samuels misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Samuels manages to get to full guard.
Mola scoring with punches to the head and body.
Samuels preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Samuels has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Mola doesn't defend quickly enough and Samuels has managed to lock this one up! Can Mola escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Samuels on a fantastic submission victory.
