PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tslil Lavy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Piotr Dlugi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Tslil Lavy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Piotr Dlugi!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lavy throws a series of punches but Dlugi moves out of range.
Lavy looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Lavy takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Dlugi shoots in for a double leg but Lavy sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Dlugi tries for a takedown but Lavy sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Dlugi lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Lavy backs up against the cage.
Dlugi moves in looking to clinch but Lavy pushes him off.

Dlugi shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lavy's guard.
Lavy avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Dlugi trying to control the position from guard on top but Lavy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dlugi is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Dlugi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Dlugi trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Dlugi engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Dlugi stands and steps away. Lavy gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Dlugi closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lavy did well to prevent Dlugi getting side control.
Dlugi is trying to control. Lavy wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Lavy is in trouble now - Dlugi has advanced to mount!
Lavy is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Dlugi is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Lavy can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Dlugi trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dlugi throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dlugi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lavy is looking to escape.

Dlugi lands a heavy elbow.

Dlugi is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Lavy has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The referee warns Lavy that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Lavy is looking to improve his position but Dlugi isn't that keen on the idea.

Lavy in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Dlugi tries to control but Lavy wriggling away.

Dlugi is standing up, even though he is in mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A punch combination from Dlugi misses.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Dlugi tries to close the distance and clinch but Lavy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Dlugi throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lavy's waist but Lavy gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dlugi off to one side.

Lavy is trying to break the clinch but Dlugi is controlling him.

Dlugi jumps guard but Lavy turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Dlugi fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lavy to the ground. Dlugi is now in Lavy's guard.

Dlugi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lavy keeps working.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Dlugi decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Dlugi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Tslil Lavy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Piotr Dlugi.

Lavy misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A thudding body kick lands there by Dlugi!

Lavy gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Lavy wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Dlugi is now in half guard.
Lavy is refusing to be controlled, as Dlugi sits in half guard.
Lavy misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Lavy wants to get back to full guard but Dlugi has mounted him!

Lavy is desperately trying to improve his position but Dlugi has a good base and remains in mount.

Dlugi get's back to his feet.
No joy there for Lavy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Dlugi has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Lavy shoots in but Dlugi avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Dlugi connects with a leg kick. Lavy looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Dlugi tries to clinch there but Lavy circles away.
Lavy displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dlugi.

Lavy gets caught napping as Dlugi dives in and scores a takedown. Lavy manages to retain guard.

Lavy is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lavy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dlugi is one step ahead there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Piotr Dlugi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!



Dlugi closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lavy's guard.
Lavy keeping moving, preventing Dlugi from controlling successfully.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Piotr Dlugi was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Dlugi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lavy swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Dlugi throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lavy tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dlugi is in Lavy's guard.
Dlugi wants to control from the top but Lavy keeps moving.
Lavy wants to control but Dlugi passes easily into half guard.
Lavy is positioning himself well to prevent Dlugi advancing to mount.
Dlugi wants to take a breather but Lavy is having none of it.

Dlugi stands up out of the half guard.
Dlugi shoots in looking for a takedown but Lavy manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dlugi's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Lavy throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

and Lavy moves into the clinch.

Dlugi jumps guard and drags Lavy to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Dlugi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Dlugi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dlugi can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lavy controls the pace.
Tslil Lavy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Piotr Dlugi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
