Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tat Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Suarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tat Taylor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Pedro Suarez!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suarez with a poor takedown
and Taylor counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Suarez thinking.
Suarez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Taylor cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Suarez fails with the takedown
and Taylor makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Tat Taylor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pedro Suarez.
Taylor fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Taylor fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Suarez.
Suarez misses with a takedown
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
No luck for Suarez with that takedown attempt.
Taylor lands a high kick!
Taylor fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Taylor fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Suarez.

Suarez has his takedown stuffed
and Taylor counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Suarez tries to clinch up but Taylor circles away and keeps his distance.
Taylor connects with a leg kick. Suarez looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Suarez throws a head kick that misses
and Taylor counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Taylor scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Suarez has his takedown stuffed
and Taylor counters with a one-two to the body.

Suarez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Taylor sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Taylor thuds a left hand into Suarez's body.
Taylor feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Suarez's calf.

Taylor lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Suarez is trying desperately to land a takedown but Taylor is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Suarez.

and Taylor counters with a lovely straight right hand!
No luck for Suarez with that takedown attempt.

Taylor lands a head kick. Suarez smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Taylor connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Taylor feints a jab promting Suarez to slip. Taylor then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Suarez slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Suarez tries to move into range but Taylor moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
A left and a right from Taylor both land. Nice combination.
Suarez walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Suarez fails to land the takedown.
Suarez on the wrong end of a nice hook.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Suarez takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Taylor throws a combination. Suarez tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Suarez looks for a takedown but Taylor sprawls well.
Taylor throws a series of strikes that have Suarez backpedaling.
Suarez shoots in looking for a takedown. Taylor tries to sprawl out of it but Suarez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Taylor manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Suarez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Taylor napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Taylor is trying to control Suarez's posture but Suarez avoids it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Taylor is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tat Taylor dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Taylor dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Taylor is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Suarez has his takedown stuffed
enabling Taylor to counter with a crisp jab.
Taylor lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Suarez backs up against the cage.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Suarez enables Taylor to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Suarez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Taylor sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Suarez's guard.
Suarez slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Suarez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Taylor loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Taylor has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Suarez can do anything to dispel that myth.

Taylor lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Taylor drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Suarez manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Taylor has Suarez in his guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Taylor utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Suarez postures up in Taylor's guard and throws a big left but Taylor blocks it.

Suarez drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Taylor dives on top into guard.

Suarez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Suarez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Taylor doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Taylor manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Suarez is breathing heavily.

Suarez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Taylor gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Suarez tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Taylor postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Suarez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Taylor can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Taylor slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Suarez takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Taylor tries to move to mount but Suarez blocks the move with his legs.
Suarez is trying to improve his position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Taylor works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Suarez dodges the ground and pound from Taylor.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tat Taylor dominated that second round.
That's time! Taylor's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Suarez shoots in but Taylor avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Taylor fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Suarez has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Suarez gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Suarez tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Taylor lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Suarez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Suarez can't escape the position.

Taylor cracks Suarez with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
