Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toki Mazuke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Toki Mazuke has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Michael Davis's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mazuke walks into a stiff left hand from Davis.
Mazuke displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Davis throws out the jab.
Davis scores with a hook to the body. Mazuke takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Mazuke will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nice defenses there by Mazuke.
Mazuke slips a jab from Davis.
Mazuke fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Davis throws a lazy uppercut

and Mazuke counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Davis's guard now.

Mazuke drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mazuke jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Davis is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Davis looking for a sweep. Not yet Davis, not yet.
Mazuke should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Davis pulls Mazuke in close to his closed guard and prevents Mazuke from doing any damage or advancing position.
Mazuke trying to control but Davis is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Michael Davis just wasn't active enough.

Mazuke shoots in for a takedown but Davis shows good takedown defense.
Michael Davis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Toki Mazuke.

Mazuke uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Davis.
Davis dives in and grabs Mazuke's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mazuke pushes down on Davis's head and hops out.

and Mazuke decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Davis's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mazuke postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Davis is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mazuke, into his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mazuke looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Mazuke had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Davis defends it easily.
Davis stands up over Mazuke, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Davis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mazuke has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Davis has managed to get both his arms back between Mazuke's legs - danger averted.
Davis distracts Mazuke with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Davis is pushing down on Mazuke's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mazuke is fighting to maintain full guard but Davis has managed to sneak the leg through.
Davis looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mazuke with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Davis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mazuke on the ground.

Davis working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Mazuke is rocked!
Davis works his foot free and advances to mount.
Mazuke is still in real trouble! Can Davis finish him?
Davis postures up and throws a big right hand. BOOM! Right on the button! Mazuke is out cold - huge knockout for Davis!

After winning the bout, Michael Davis thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
