The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Fujiwara and Sosuke Kotani.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fowler looks to throw the jab but Lazerous is out of range.
Fowler shoots in for a takedown but Lazerous shows good takedown defense.

Lazerous throws a series of punches but Fowler moves out of range.
Fowler has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Fowler there as he acknowledges the shot.
Lazerous throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Fowler.
Fowler fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lazerous manages to avoid it.
Fowler shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lazerous as he avoids it easily.

Loki Lazerous has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Austin Fowler.

Fowler drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fowler jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Lazerous is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Fowler is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fowler moves into full mount! Lazerous won't be happy about that!

Lazerous is desperately trying to improve his position but Fowler has a good base and remains in mount.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fowler throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Fowler has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lazerous's face.
