Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Smirnov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phat Berry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smirnov comes into the arena with National Anthem Russia blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smirnov tries to keep at a distance but Berry has taken the fight into the clinch.
Berry is fighting off a takedown attempt but Smirnov is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Berry to the mat. Berry regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Berry is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Smirnov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Vladimir Smirnov.

Horrible takedown by Smirnov or perhaps it was just good defense by Berry which made him look bad.
