The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Quick gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Quick has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Ace regains guard immediately.

Quick wants to pass the guard but Ace is keeping the position.
Quick trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Ace seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Quick does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Quick had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Ace is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Quick Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Ace's back instead.

Quick tries for a takedown but Ace sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Quick wants to clinch up but Ace keeps it at a distance.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Quick is on top in guard.

Ace is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Quick throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Ace manages to pass to side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Ace is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Quick is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
