PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neil Mann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mann comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Money For Nothing kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Mann throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mann throws a head kick but Evans moves out of range.
Evans takes a swing at Mann's ribcage but misses.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Evans.
Mann swings for the body but Evans moves out of range.
Mann doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Evans cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Evans bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Evans comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Evans's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mann connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Evans scrambles back to his feet.
Evans misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mann.
Mann takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Evans looks to land a right hand but Mann moved out of range.
Evans misses with a hook. Mann ducked under it nicely.
Evans looks to throw the jab but Mann is out of range.
Mann thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Evans if he has to take too many more of those.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Mann, as that shot connected.

It looks like Marcus Evans has been cut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Evans walks into a left hand.
Mann stuffs the takedown attempt from Evans. Evans gets slowly back to his feet.
Mann scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Mann swings for the body but Evans moves out of range.
A slow jab from Evans misses its intended target.
Mann pushes Evans away with a front kick.
Evans throws a big shot that misses.
Evans loads up on a big right hand but Mann slips the punch.
A left lands for Evans.
Evans moves out of range as Mann strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mann throws a lazy right hand but Evans sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Evans shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mann napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Mann explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Evans avoids a kick to the body.
Mann misses with a low kick as Evans jumps back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mann takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Nice shot lands for Mann.
Evans lands a nice shot to the body.
Evans steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mann.
Mann connects with a body shot.
Mann cracks Evans with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Evans tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Mann pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Evans is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Neil Mann!
A relieved looking Neil Mann thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
