Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lex Luthor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Welsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luthor with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Welsh closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Luthor quickly recovers to half guard.
Luthor is looking for a sweep. Welsh is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Luthor is working hard here to advance position.
Welsh looking for a submission but Luthor manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.
Welsh tries to free his leg and advance position but Luthor is retaining full guard.

Welsh drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Welsh jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

We're going to have a standup here because Lex Luthor wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Welsh stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Luthor.
Luthor fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Welsh.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Luthor.
Welsh changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Luthor tries to avoid it but Welsh manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Luthor to the ground. Luthor escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Welsh is looking to improve his position but Luthor isn't that keen on the idea.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Welsh is trying desperately to improve position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Welsh sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

That was a close round but I would say that Lex Luthor will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Welsh counters with a thumping low kick.
Welsh's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Luthor with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Welsh to score with a decent uppercut.
Welsh shoots in for a takedown but Luthor shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Welsh shoots in looking for a takedown. Luthor tries to sprawl out of it but Welsh keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Luthor manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Luthor here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Luthor, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
