PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ari Harry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson McFighty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Harry is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Ari Harry had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tyson McFighty!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Phil Schofield and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Harry, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Harry is breathing heavily.
Harry shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McFighty sprawls well. McFighty wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Harry gets slowly back to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from McFighty.
McFighty shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
McFighty scores with a body shot.
Harry stuffs the takedown attempt from McFighty. McFighty gets slowly back to his feet.
Ari Harry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyson McFighty.

McFighty drives through and clinches with Harry against the cage.

McFighty jumps into guard, dragging Harry to the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

McFighty looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Harry will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

McFighty uses the cage to get back to his feet.

McFighty moves into the clinch.
McFighty misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Harry.

McFighty gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
McFighty pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Harry is keeping the position for now.
McFighty trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McFighty passes Harry's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Well, if McFighty is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

McFighty thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Harry's head.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McFighty is pressing down on Harry's thigh, looking to free his foot. Harry is holding on for now.
McFighty not doing much here.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tyson McFighty hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
McFighty shoots in and drives through. Harry sprawls well.

McFighty closes the distance and clinches.

McFighty breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

McFighty feints and as Harry raises his hands in defense, McFighty changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

McFighty is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
McFighty slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

McFighty gets to his feet - Harry follows without any prompting.
McFighty fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

McFighty darts in and clinches Harry up against the cage.
McFighty is working for takedown but Harry is calmly controlling the position for now.

McFighty turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and McFighty manages to end up in side control.
Harry is trying to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
McFighty tries to advance to mount but can't.
Harry is looking to regain half guard here but McFighty keeps moving and retains side control.

You can see the frustration on Harry's face as McFighty controls the position.
Harry trying his best to control but McFighty has mounted him.
Harry is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McFighty thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
McFighty takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Harry is trying to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyson McFighty dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Harry shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. McFighty defends it nicely.

McFighty forces Harry back against the cage and clinches.
McFighty has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Harry avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

McFighty jumps into guard, dragging Harry to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McFighty has his foot on Harry's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Harry works his way back into a safe position though.
Harry is fighting to break McFighty's control of his arms but McFighty is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McFighty had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Harry defends it easily.

McFighty seems keen to control Harry's posture.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Tyson McFighty wasn't active enough on the ground.

McFighty darts in and clinches Harry up against the cage.

McFighty escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McFighty misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
McFighty lands a nice shot to the body.

McFighty gets a clinch.

McFighty gets control of Harry's arms and successfully pulls guard. McFighty will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
McFighty has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

McFighty escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McFighty throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Harry's waist but Harry gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McFighty off to one side.
Harry tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
McFighty throws a head kick but Harry moves out of range.
Harry shoots in looking for a takedown. McFighty tries to sprawl out of it but Harry keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McFighty manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Harry fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Harry tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McFighty swivels and escapes.

McFighty rushes Harry and presses him up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyson McFighty showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


McFighty shoots for a takedown but Harry saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Horrible takedown by McFighty or perhaps it was just good defense by Harry which made him look bad.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Harry.

McFighty drives through and clinches with Harry against the cage.

McFighty ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. McFighty no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
McFighty has Harry pulled in close to control his posture.

Harry got a little sloppy there for a moment and McFighty has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Harry has managed to get both his arms back between McFighty's legs - danger averted.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

McFighty has his feet on Harry's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Harry stuffs the takedown attempt from McFighty. McFighty gets slowly back to his feet.
Ari Harry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyson McFighty.
Sloppy strikes from Harry. Those never looked like landing.
McFighty shoots in looking for a takedown but Harry manages to keep the fight standing, pushing McFighty's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Harry displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from McFighty.

McFighty throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Harry was covering up waiting for the punch and McFighty finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Harry is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McFighty is aware though and is defending well.

Harry not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
McFighty controls from within his opponent's guard.
Harry utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Tyson McFighty has got the better of the ground game so far.
McFighty is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
McFighty is looking to work some ground and pound but Harry has wrist control.

McFighty tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Harry swivels and escapes.
Harry tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. McFighty manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
McFighty misses with a takedown attempt - Harry sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

McFighty shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Harry is trying to get back to full guard.
McFighty is thwarting Harry's attempts to control the position.

McFighty is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

McFighty moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Harry.
Harry is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Tyson McFighty comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well McFighty has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
