Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Glen Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rainbow Trout (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Glen Nelson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rainbow Trout!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Russell Pearce and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson misses with a takedown
and Trout makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Nelson really felt that one!
Trout stuns Nelson with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Trout lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
A solid leg kick lands there for Trout.
Nelson tries to close the distance and clinch but Trout swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Trout scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Nelson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Trout circles away.
Trout connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Trout throws a head kick that misses.
Trout is looking to slow Nelson down with leg kicks.

Nelson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Nelson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Trout swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Trout finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Nice takedown defense from Trout. No joy for Nelson on that attempt.
Trout throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Trout thuds his shin into the meat of Nelson's side.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Trout counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Nelson is lucky that one didn't land flush.

and Trout makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Trout scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Nelson will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
Nelson takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rainbow Trout dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Nelson stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Trout.
Trout fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Nelson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Trout throws a head kick that misses.
Nelson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Trout can pounce on him.
Trout stuffs the takedown attempt from Nelson. Nelson gets slowly back to his feet.
Nelson shoots and misses
and Trout counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Trout closes the distance and clinches.
Trout connects with a knee to the head.


It looks like Glen Nelson has been cut.
Trout is pressed up against the cage. Nelson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Trout down to the mat. Trout avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Glen Nelson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nelson takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Nelson is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Nelson gets tackled into the cage by Trout. Trout maintains the clinch.
Trout wants to break free but Nelson has control.

Trout breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Nelson walks forward, straight into a front kick from Trout.
Trout chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Trout thuds his shin into the meat of Nelson's side.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nelson.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nice uppercut lands for Trout. That snapped Nelson's head back.

Rainbow Trout showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Nelson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Trout lands a nice hook to Nelson's body. Nelson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Trout has managed to clinch.
Nelson tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Trout smiles and moves away.

Nelson scores with a takedown into Trout's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Trout is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Trout wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Nelson manages to pass to side control.

Trout has one foot on Nelson's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Trout tries to break the clinch but Nelson is controlling the position.

Trout tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Nelson avoids it.

Trout is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Trout creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Glen Nelson's cut is getting worse.
Nelson blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Nelson can't find room to land a body shot as Trout controls the action.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Trout gets through Nelson's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Trout lands an elbow just above Nelson 's eye.

I've got Trout winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
