Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jake Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ping Petunia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ping Petunia has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jake Mendes's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jake Mendes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ping Petunia.
Mendes throws a series of punches but Petunia moves out of range.
Petunia shoots for a double leg takedown but Mendes sprawls well. He's pushed Petunia's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mendes catches Petunia with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Petunia shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mendes's guard.

Petunia drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mendes looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mendes looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mendes!

Mendes fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Petunia manages to avoid it.
Mendes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Petunia moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mendes connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Petunia's hands.

Petunia uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mendes.

Mendes lands a left and a right that send Petunia crashing to the mat, dazed. Mendes thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Petunia shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mendes manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Petunia is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mendes is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mendes has escaped and now he's on top!

Mendes seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Jake Mendes has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Petunia dives in and grabs Mendes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mendes pushes down on Petunia's head and hops out.
Mendes leaves Petunia with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Petunia shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mendes but Mendes pushes him off and we're back to square one.
