Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kim Berlley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Hancock!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hancock tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Hancock misses with a head kick.
Berlley throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Hancock throws a sloppy head kick and Berlley moves out of range easily.

Berlley drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Berlley is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Berlley drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Berlley jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Hancock is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Berlley is controlling him.
Berlley keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hancock's head.

Berlley drops back looking for a leg! Hancock is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hancock manages to kick Berlley off! Berlley jumps back into Hancock's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Berlley accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Berlley passes Hancock's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Berlley seems to be looking for submissions.
Hancock tries to kick Berlley off but Berlley keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Berlley is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hancock sees it coming and defends easily.
Hancock is looking for a sweep. Berlley is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Berlley is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Berlley is working for a kimura but Hancock is defending it quite comfortably.

Berlley wants to work for an arm triangle but Hancock is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Berlley tries to pass the half guard into mount. Hancock knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Berlley looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Berlley wants to pass the guard but Hancock is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kim Berlley dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Berlley fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hancock has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Hancock gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Berlley postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hancock is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Berlley, into his guard.
Kim Berlley overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hancock got a little sloppy there for a moment and Berlley has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hancock has managed to get both his arms back between Berlley's legs - danger averted.
Hancock wants to get up but he can't break Berlley's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Berlley is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Hancock frees his head nicely. Oh but Berlley has switched to an armbar! Hancock is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
