I think Rutger might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Prince Ital Joe feat. Marky Mark - United. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stevens misses with a hook. Rutger ducked under it nicely.
Rutger avoids a kick to the body.
Stevens tries to land a front kick but Rutger steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Stevens connects with a good right hand that stumbles Rutger. Rutger circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Stevens uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rutger.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rutger shoots in for a takedown but Stevens shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Rutger shoots in looking for a takedown. Stevens tries to sprawl out of it but Rutger keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stevens manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Russ Rutger. That's going to take a lot out of him.
