Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mike RIcci (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Byob Kingpin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Byob Kingpin told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mike RIcci!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Byob Kingpin!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kingpin walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
RIcci scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Kingpin shoots in but RIcci avoids the takedown attempt easily.
RIcci ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
A punch lands to the side of Kingpin 's head but he takes it in his stride.
It looks like Byob Kingpin has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

RIcci lands a slapping body shot.
Kingpin is still on wobbly legs! Can RIcci finish him?
Kingpin looks winded!
RIcci finds Kingpin's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Kingpin flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. RIcci lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Kingpin will be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mike RIcci!
