Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gerard Link (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Kazboe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Link comes to the ring accompanied by Mr. Trololo. Gerard Link had a look across the ring there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gerard Link!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Kazboe!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kazboe tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Joe Kazboe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kazboe will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Link tests Kazboe's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Kazboe fails to land the takedown.
Kazboe fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Gerard Link has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Kazboe.

Kazboe throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Link's waist but Link gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kazboe off to one side.
Kazboe shoots in for a takedown but Link shows good takedown defense.
Kazboe fails with the takedown.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Link scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Kazboe misses with a body kick.
Kazboe tries to clinch up but Link circles away and keeps his distance.
Link shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kazboe eats them both and turns towards Link to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.


It looks like Joe Kazboe has been cut.
Link throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Link clinches.
Kazboe is trying desperately to land a takedown but Link is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Kazboe.
Link gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kazboe.
Link wants to get back to striking at distance but Kazboe won't allow it.
Link is trying to break free.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kazboe misses with a hook to the ribs.
Link wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Link manages to break the clinch.
Kazboe tries a head kick but it misses.
Kazboe fails to land with a series of punches.
Kazboe looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Link is fending him off so far but Kazboe persists. Nope, Link circles away and we're back to standing.
Link lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Kazboe misses with a two punch combination.
Good exchange - Link coming out on top.
Link scores with a hook to the body. Kazboe takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Link checks a leg kick.
Link cracks Kazboe with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kazboe gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Link breaks the clinch.
Link clobbers Kazboe with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Kazboe doesn't manage to clinch there - Link circles away.
Link uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Kazboe.
Kazboe walks into a stiff left hand from Link.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kazboe.
Link leaves Kazboe with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Link looks to land a combination but Kazboe avoids it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Kazboe instigates a clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Link can't break the clinch.
Link scores with a nice hook to the head.
Link wants to get back to striking at distance but Kazboe won't allow it.
Kazboe has Link pressed against the ropes, preventing Link from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Kazboe tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Link just stands there and leans against the ropes.
Kazboe fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Link prevents the takedown attempt.
Link wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Link manages to break the clinch.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Link!
Kazboe shoots in for a double leg but Link sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gerard Link dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Joe Kazboe's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Link lands a big right hand that sends Kazboe crashing to the mat! Link stays standing though and waves Kazboe back to his feet!
Gerard Link is winning the standup battle so far.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Link lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


Kazboe is rocked!
Kazboe drops his hands for a split second and Link immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Kazboe face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Link follows up with a right hand that knocks Kazboe into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Gerard Link!
After the fight, Gerard Link was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
