Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Tommy Fire!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jimmy Sisphar!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Josh West and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sisphar is looking to clinch.
Sisphar tries to close the distance and clinch but Fire swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
The fight stays on the outside here - Sisphar looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Fire bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fire scoring with punches and elbows.
Fire has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Sisphar avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Fire.
Sisphar seems a little lost for a moment, as Fire dominates the positioning.
Fire landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sisphar takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Fire fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Fire stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Sisphar is looking to clinch.

Fire changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sisphar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Sisphar really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fire. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sisphar takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fire lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Sisphar down.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fire is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Sisphar's shoulder. That is not cool.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We're going to have a standup here because Tommy Fire wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Fire throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Fire looking to score a takedown here. Sisphar is defending well but Fire drives through and ends up in Sisphar's guard.
Fire trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fire with a nice head shot there.
Fire keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sisphar's head.
Fire lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Sisphar avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Fire postures up and lands a big shot to Sisphar's brow.
Fire throws a big right hand that misses.
Fire slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Fire sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sisphar's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Fire looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Fire frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Fire content just to control the position here.
Fire is in the full mount, landing strikes.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Fire lands a nice shot to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tommy Fire dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Fire clinches with his opponent.
Fire is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sisphar can do to turn this around?
Sisphar tries to land a knee to the head but Fire blocks with his arms.

Sisphar keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Fire's efforts to push away.

Fire lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Fire works his way into full mount!

Tommy Fire overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Sisphar is rocked!
Sisphar is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fire controlling the position easily from mount.
Sisphar is still in real trouble! Can Fire finish him?

Sisphar is in a horrible position here. Fire smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Sisphar takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Fire's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
