The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayo sizes up Laion with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Laion closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mayo circles away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mayo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Laion.

Mayo bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Laion's head.
Mayo loads up on a big right hand but Laion slips the punch.
Mayo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Laion.

Mayo slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Mayo lands a big head kick that sends Laion tumbling to the mat! Mayo takes a step backwards and waves Laion back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Laion is rocked!

Mayo fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Laion looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Oh Laion is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mayo looks to score with a jab to the body but Laion is just out of range.
Mayo misses with a wild body shot.
Oooooh!!! Mayo has knocked Laion down with a huge combo! Mayo steps away and waves a wobbly Laion back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Mayo cracks Laion on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Laion falls backwards against the cage. Mayo follows up with more strikes that drop Laion to his knees. Mayo keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Laion! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jason Mayo!
Our winner, Jason Mayo, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
