Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mario Carvalho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Orlando Delgado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Mario Carvalho has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Mario Carvalho seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mario Carvalho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Orlando Delgado!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carvalho ducks under a wild hook from Delgado.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Delgado.
Delgado fails to land the takedown.
Carvalho shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Delgado works his way to full guard. Good work.
Carvalho trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Carvalho is looking to advance position but Delgado has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Delgado has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Delgado looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Carvalho with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Carvalho is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Delgado scores with a couple of nice shots.
Delgado landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Still in half guard, Delgado seems content to control.

Delgado wants to stand but Carvalho has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Carvalho on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Delgado is keen to just control but Carvalho is a slippery customer.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carvalho makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Carvalho.
Delgado gets to his feet - Carvalho follows without any prompting.
Delgado instigates a clinch.
Delgado has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Delgado tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Mario Carvalho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Orlando Delgado.
Delgado is trying to break free.
Delgado with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Carvalho has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Delgado clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Delgado wants to escape the position.
Carvalho is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Delgado knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Delgado for a finish.
Carvalho looking to break Delgado's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Delgado remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Carvalho will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Delgado controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Delgado is in a bad position with Carvalho working for a choke. Delgado manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment.
Delgado working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Carvalho's head.

Delgado loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Delgado stands and steps away. Carvalho gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Delgado is looking to clinch.
Carvalho fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Delgado avoids it really well and circles away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Carvalho misses with a takedown attempt - Delgado sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Orlando Delgado will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Delgado throws a series of punches but Carvalho avoids them all with ease.
Delgado shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Carvalho defends it nicely.
Carvalho feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Mario Carvalho overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Carvalho drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Carvalho jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Delgado preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Delgado wants to stand and escape but Carvalho is having none of it.
Delgado is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Carvalho is in close to Delgado's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Delgado looking to control.
Carvalho trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Delgado looking for a guillotine here but Carvalho defends easily.
Delgado is breathing heavily.

Carvalho is pushing down on Delgado's leg trying to pass to half guard. Delgado is fighting to maintain full guard but Carvalho has managed to sneak the leg through.
Delgado avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Carvalho.
Carvalho throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Delgado to regain full guard.
Delgado wants to stand up but Carvalho is controlling him.
Carvalho drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Carvalho as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Delgado screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Carvalho! Nice submission victory there!
