PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jarek Zakapior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Moore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Moore is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Funeral Thirst. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Billy Moore!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Moore misses.
Zakapior misses with a jab to the body
and Moore counters with a nice uppercut.
Moore slaps away a takedown attempt from Zakapior, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Moore fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Zakapior sprawls well initially but Moore persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Moore thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Moore is working for a kimura but Zakapior is defending it quite comfortably.
Moore seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Zakapior knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Moore on the ground.
Zakapior is trying to get back to full guard.

Moore is looking to take a break and control but Zakapior is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Zakapior manages to get to full guard.
Zakapior throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zakapior keeping moving, preventing Moore from controlling successfully.
Zakapior preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Moore with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Moore passes Zakapior's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Zakapior is staying active underneath Moore, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Moore works his way into full mount!
Zakapior tries to lock up and control but Moore gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Moore has control of Zakapior's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Zakapior regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Moore misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Moore is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Zakapior is surviving well by controlling Moore's body position as best he can.
Zakapior is in all sorts of trouble here.
Moore avoids the attempt from Zakapior to control.

Zakapior is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Zakapior tries to lock up and control but Moore gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Moore looking for a guillotine from mount but Zakapior is having none of it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Moore throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Zakapior is wriggling around trying to escape.
Moore looking to ground and pound but Zakapior is blocking nicely.

Moore is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Zakapior can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Zakapior is looking to improve his position but Moore isn't that keen on the idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Billy Moore dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Moore fails to land with a series of punches.
Moore throws a head kick but Zakapior moves out of range.
Zakapior lands with an overhand left.
A lazy left from Zakapior finds it's target.
Moore scores with a three punch combo!

Zakapior is rocked!
Moore connects with a nice cross there... Zakapior is looking wobbly and Moore recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Zakapior to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Moore jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
