PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Metal Ripper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ultimate Power Ranger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ripper comes into the arena with Sabaton - Metal ripper blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Power Ranger scores with a nice strike.
Ripper tries to land a leg kick but Power Ranger saw it coming and moves away.
Power Ranger throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Ripper counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Power Ranger lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Ripper tries to land a front kick but Power Ranger steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Power Ranger takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Ripper shoots in looking for a takedown. Power Ranger tries to sprawl out of it but Ripper keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Power Ranger manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Ripper is trying to control the action in half guard but Power Ranger is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Ripper wants to pass the guard but Power Ranger is defending well.
Ripper is keen to just control but Power Ranger is a slippery customer.

Ripper is looking for a kimura but Power Ranger is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ripper to get the leverage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ripper wants to control but Power Ranger is keeping him busy.

Power Ranger looks like he's trying to stand up.
Power Ranger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ripper. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Ripper tries to score a power double leg takedown but Power Ranger sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ripper somewhat.

Power Ranger is rocked!
Ripper is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Power Ranger flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Power Ranger is out cold! Ripper holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
