Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Callahan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Rubio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Callahan might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Everybody Wants To Rule The World. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thomas Callahan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adam Rubio!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rubio tries to clinch up.
A looping hook to the body misses from Callahan. Rubio does a little dance to reset his feet.

Rubio shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rubio showed some decent athleticism there.
Callahan tries to get to full guard but Rubio has control of the leg.
Rubio passes to side control.
Rubio is looking to take a break and control but Callahan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Rubio working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That's time! Callahan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Callahan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Rubio manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Callahan throws a solid leg kick but Rubio takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Callahan.
Rubio misses with a takedown attempt - Callahan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Rubio wants to take the fight to the mat but Callahan manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Callahan has his foot on Rubio's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rubio works his way back into a safe position though.

Well Callahan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
