PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Regis King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Lonely road of faith. King has chosen Break ya neck as his entrance music. Regis King acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Regis King!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson stuffs the takedown attempt from King. King gets slowly back to his feet.
Jackson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

King feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
King wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as King accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

King decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jackson, up you get!

Regis King showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Jackson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


King tries for a takedown but Jackson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jackson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
King lands a really nice looking cross but Jackson seems unphased.
Jackson misses with a series of wild punches.
King closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jackson circles away.
King shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Jackson counters with a one-two to the body.
Jim Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Regis King.

Jim Jackson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jackson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Jackson has momentary wrist control but King slips an elbow through the middle.

King passes Jackson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
King looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jackson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

King stands up out of the half guard.

King throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jackson was covering up waiting for the punch and King finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Jackson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as King controls the pace.
Jackson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Jim Jackson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
King thows a huge punch but Jackson dodges it nicely.
Regis King is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
King winds up and cracks Jackson with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

And that's the end of the fight!
Regis King comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got King winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Regis King really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Crippler's Corner logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
