Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zack Fair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bruce Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zack Fair!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Fair is fending him off so far but Gracie persists. Nope, Fair circles away and we're back to standing.
Fair avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Gracie drives through with a takedown into guard.

Fair working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gracie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gracie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Fair throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Gracie postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Fair is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gracie, into his guard.

Gracie looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Fair is looking to advance position but Gracie has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Fair tries to control Gracie's body but Gracie pushes him off. Fair squirms to his side and now Gracie has his back!
Gracie is hanging on to Fair's back as he tries to escape.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Fair looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fair is looking for a kimura but Gracie is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fair to get the leverage.

Gracie looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Fair seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Gracie makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gracie.
Gracie might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Fair throws a big elbow that misses.
Fair wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.

Gracie working for submissions but it's allowed Fair to get to half guard.

Fair is working for a submission of some sort.
Fair not landing any meaningful shots this time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Gracie gets back to full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Gracie utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Fair feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Bruce Gracie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Gracie is trying to keep Fair in close.
Gracie looking to control but Fair passes into half guard.
Fair slows the pace down in half guard.
Gracie has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fair is working away from the top position though.
Gracie tries to roll over but Fair keeps him under control.

Fair wants to work for an arm triangle but Gracie is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Fair seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gracie does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Fair is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gracie doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Fair.

Fair is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Gracie has managed to free his arm - good work.
Gracie moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Gracie looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Fair passes into side control.
Gracie tries to improve position but can't.
Gracie managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Fair.

Fair tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fair has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie is not content to let Fair control the position.
Gracie is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Gracie makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gracie.
Fair trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Fair drops back looking for a leg! Gracie is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gracie manages to kick Fair off! Fair jumps back into Gracie's guard.
Gracie preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Gracie is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Fair is aware though and is defending well.

Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fair gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fair trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom.
Fair loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Gracie keeping full guard, as Fair tries to pass.
Fair looking to sit in guard and control but Gracie gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Gracie got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fair has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gracie has managed to get both his arms back between Fair's legs - danger averted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Zack Fair will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Gracie's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Gracie thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Fair's head.

Gracie is working for an americana but Fair has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Gracie was thinking about the submission.

Fair looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Fair is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Gracie has his hands clasped together but Fair extends an breaks Gracie's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Fair.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Zack Fair!
Zack Fair seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
