Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mark Jamesion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dan Paw!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jamesion misses with a wild body shot.
Paw looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Jamesion drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Jamesion stands up over Paw, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Jamesion has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Jamesion looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Jamesion seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Paw for as long as he can get away with.
Paw is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Jamesion pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Paw is keeping the position for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mark Jamesion.

Jamesion fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Paw to the ground. Jamesion is now in Paw's guard.

Paw looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Jamesion drops back looking for a leg! Paw is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Paw manages to kick Jamesion off! Jamesion jumps back into Paw's guard.

Mark Jamesion overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Jamesion has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Jamesion is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Paw has managed to escape the submission attempt.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jamesion lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Jamesion closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Jamesion thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Jamesion has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Jamesion misses with a leg kick.
Paw takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Jamesion throws a push kick but Paw slaps the foot to one side.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Jamesion pulls Paw into guard.
Jamesion lands some strikes from the bottom.

Jamesion scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Jamesion closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Paw's guard.

Jamesion distracts Paw with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Jamesion controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Mark Jamesion just wasn't active enough.

Jamesion feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mark Jamesion has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Jamesion fails with an attempt to clinch.

Jamesion lands a hook that snaps the head of Paw backwards.
Jamesion will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Paw up against the cage.

Jamesion has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Paw uses from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jamesion pulls Paw in close to his closed guard and prevents Paw from doing any damage or advancing position.
Jamesion looking to hit a scissor sweep but Paw is one step ahead there.

Well Jamesion has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
