Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Toki Mazuke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Lauzon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe Lauzon is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mazuke keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lauzon closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mazuke circles away.
Mazuke scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Mazuke looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Mazuke tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mazuke has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Lauzon wants to sweep but no luck.
Mazuke drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lauzon dives on top into guard.

Lauzon is looking to take a break and control but Mazuke is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Lauzon wants to work for an arm triangle but Mazuke is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Mazuke is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lauzon pulls his head out easily.

Lauzon is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Lauzon frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Lauzon looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Lauzon has hold of Mazuke's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mazuke manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Lauzon has control of Mazuke's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Mazuke regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Lauzon can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mazuke is looking to escape.
Lauzon is working for a guillotine from mount but Mazuke frees his head quite easily.
Mazuke knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lauzon on the ground.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lauzon jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Mazuke manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Mazuke manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Mazuke counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mazuke.
Mazuke thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Lauzon has his foot on Mazuke's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mazuke works his way back into a safe position though.

Lauzon is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Mazuke has his hands clasped together but Lauzon extends an breaks Mazuke's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Lauzon.
