PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between WhaleOil BeefHooked (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Herschel Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Herschel Walker told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Nard Betker.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Walker throws a right and a left that BeefHooked avoids nicely.
BeefHooked shoots in looking for a takedown but Walker manages to keep the fight standing, pushing BeefHooked's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
BeefHooked shoots in and drives through. Walker sprawls well.
BeefHooked lands a high kick!
BeefHooked keeps the fight on the outside.
Walker doesn't manage to clinch there - BeefHooked circles away.

and BeefHooked counters with a head kick. That will keep Walker thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

BeefHooked throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Walker blocks it with crossed arms.
Walker can't find room to land a body shot as BeefHooked controls the action.
Walker tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. BeefHooked obliges.
Walker on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
BeefHooked jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Walker walks away with a smile on his face. BeefHooked gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and BeefHooked moves into the clinch.
BeefHooked with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Walker tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
BeefHooked tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Walker avoids it.
BeefHooked tries to score a body lock takedown but Walker shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

BeefHooked has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Walker regains guard immediately.
BeefHooked is looking to work some ground and pound but Walker has wrist control.

BeefHooked drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and BeefHooked jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Walker is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. BeefHooked is aware though and is defending well.
BeefHooked tries to free his leg and advance position but Walker is retaining full guard.

Walker has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but BeefHooked can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

BeefHooked throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Walker tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. BeefHooked is in Walker's guard.

BeefHooked has hold of Walker's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Walker manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
BeefHooked has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Walker's face.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
BeefHooked cracks Walker with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
