The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carter shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. McKenzie eats them both and turns towards Carter to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Carter swings wildly with an uppercut but McKenzie uses good head movement to avoid it.

McKenzie's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

A frustrated look appears on McKenzie's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Carter lands a big right hand that sends McKenzie crashing to the mat! Carter stays standing though and waves McKenzie back to his feet!

McKenzie takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Oh McKenzie is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
McKenzie is breathing heavily.
McKenzie stuns Carter with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Carter throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
McKenzie chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Carter can pounce on him.
McKenzie seems to have got his legs back now.
Namor McKenzie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Carter throws a looping overhand right but McKenzie ducks down to avoid it.
Carter misses with a low kick.
McKenzie staying out of range there.

and Carter counters with a stiff right hand.

Namor McKenzie's cut is getting worse.
McKenzie tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Carter throws a shot from downtown. McKenzie moves away and avoids it.
McKenzie on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Carter. Carter obviously looking to wear him down.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McKenzie uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Carter.
Carter looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Carter backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks McKenzie's temple! It sends McKenzie violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Carter celebrates and the doctors try to help McKenzie!
