The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rooney forces Hemingway back against the cage and clinches.

Rooney breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rooney loads up on a big right hand but Hemingway slips the punch.

Rooney moves into the clinch.

Rooney pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hemingway shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Rooney holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Hemingway has Rooney pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Rooney manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Rooney breaks the clinch.
Hemingway gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Rooney cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for SasH Hemingway. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hemingway had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rooney defends it easily.
Rooney lands a couple of elbows.

Hemingway ducks under a wild hook from Rooney.

Rooney lands a nice shot that snaps Hemingway's head back.
