Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Nixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Leach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, David Nixon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Matt Leach!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Richard Clark and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leach scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Leach is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Leach scores with a nice right hand.
Nixon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Leach swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Nixon counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Leach throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Nixon's head.

and Nixon counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Leach's guard now.
Nixon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Nixon chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Leach can pounce on him.

Leach takes a swing at Nixon's ribcage but misses.
Leach is looking to slow Nixon down with leg kicks.
Nixon tried to score with a low kick but Leach checks it.

Nixon tries to close the distance and clinch but Leach swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Leach throws a shot from downtown. Nixon moves away and avoids it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nixon blocks a low kick nicely.
Leach swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Nixon shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Leach is trying to defend but Nixon finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matt Leach dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


A slapping body kick lands there for Leach.
Leach throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

It looks like David Nixon has been cut.

and Nixon counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Leach thinking.
Nixon stalks Leach and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Leach's face. Leach staggers backwards, shaken.
Leach goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Leach throws a series of punches but Nixon moves out of range.

Nixon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Nixon throws an elbow that misses. Leach uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Nixon's guard. Nice move by Leach!

Nixon is trying to maintain the position but Leach is very close to passing his half guard.
Nixon is concentrating on defense, preventing Leach from advancing position.
Leach is stalling here. Nixon is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Leach seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Nixon has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

David Nixon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Nixon is trying to ground and pound but Leach uses the momentary lack of control by Nixon to regain half guard.
Nixon is thwarting Leach's attempts to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nixon prevents Leach from improving his position.

Matt Leach is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Nixon is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Leach is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The fighters circle momentarily. Leach darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
David Nixon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

I would just about give that final round to Matt Leach.
I've got Leach winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
