Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ankur Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cyrus Sawyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sawyer comes into a darkened arena with his song building. MegaDeth- This Day We FIGHT! kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Cyrus Sawyer will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ankur Khan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cyrus Sawyer!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Lou da Vinci and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan is looking to clinch but Sawyer is avoiding it.

Sawyer drives through and clinches with Khan against the cage.
Sawyer lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Khan scores with a hook to the body.
Sawyer lands with a right to the head.
A short body shot lands from Khan as the two fighters clinch.
Sawyer tries a knee to the head but Khan blocks it.
Khan is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Khan has Sawyer pressed against the cage, preventing Sawyer from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Sawyer unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Khan tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Khan is trying to break free.
Khan on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Khan breaks the clinch.
Khan fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Khan is looking to clinch but Sawyer is avoiding it.

Sawyer throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Khan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sawyer is in Khan's guard.
Khan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Khan is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sawyer throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sawyer's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Khan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sawyer is aware though and is defending well.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Sawyer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Khan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sawyer has managed to get both his arms back between Khan's legs - danger averted.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sawyer wants to control but Khan is keeping him busy.
Khan avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Sawyer.

Khan tries to buck Sawyer off but Sawyer is having none of it.

Sawyer in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sawyer is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Khan looking for a sweep but Sawyer has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Khan is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sawyer with a couple of short strikes.
Sawyer lands a big shot there that rocks Khan but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Khan is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cyrus Sawyer dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Sawyer turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Khan throws a body punch but Sawyer moves out of range.

and Sawyer counters with a series of strikes that sends Khan to the canvas! Sawyer follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!

Oh Khan is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Khan is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sawyer defends well.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sawyer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sawyer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Sawyer throws a strike but Khan rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Khan drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sawyer looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sawyer looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sawyer!

Khan is looking to reverse the position.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Khan regains half guard there - taking advantage of Sawyer's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Khan is trying to control but can't.
Khan keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Sawyer tries to pass the half guard into mount. Khan knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Khan tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Sawyer manages to move to mount!

Sawyer is looking for a kimura but Khan is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sawyer to get the leverage.
Cyrus Sawyer has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sawyer is looking to take a break and control but Khan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Sawyer works his foot free and advances to mount.

Cyrus Sawyer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Sawyer fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Khan on the side of the head.
The fight stays on the outside here - Khan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Sawyer throws a low kick, looking for Khan's leg but Khan calmly moves out of range.
Ankur Khan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sawyer drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Khan gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Sawyer drops down looking for an ankle pick but Khan pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Khan takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Sawyer throws a series of punches but Khan avoids them all with ease.

Sawyer throws a right and a left that both miss.
Khan scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Sawyer throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Cyrus Sawyer seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Khan tries to clinch but Sawyer moves out of range.
Sawyer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Khan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sawyer throws a leg kick but Khan sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Khan is looking to clinch but Sawyer is avoiding it.
Sawyer throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Khan slaps away a takedown attempt from Sawyer, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Ankur Khan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cyrus Sawyer.
An inside leg kick lands from Khan.
Sawyer throws a nice looking combination but Khan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Khan comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Sawyer changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Khan fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Ankur Khan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Sawyer looks to score with a jab to the body but Khan is just out of range.

Sawyer has Khan up against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Sawyer gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Khan looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Khan wants to hit a switch here but Sawyer passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Khan there!

Khan is trying desperately to improve position.
Sawyer trying to control but Khan is having none of it.
Sawyer postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Khan looks a forlorn figure.

Khan is bucking up trying to escape but Sawyer cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ankur Khan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Khan takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Sawyer cracks Khan with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cyrus Sawyer!
A very excited looking Cyrus Sawyer rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
