The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mesterio moves to clinch but Alves breaks away
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Nice uppercut there from Alves .
Alves displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Alves punishes Mesterio's body with a nice straight punch.
Mesterio takes a kick to the side of the head.
Alves has Mesterio up against the ropes in a clinch.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Alves is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Mesterio is trying to break the clinch but Alves is controlling him.
Alves gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Mesterio has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Alves after a bit of a struggle.

Alves manages to break the clinch.
Mesterio takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Alves has taken the fight to the clinch.
Mesterio tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Mesterio is breathing heavily.

Alves scores with a jab. Mesterio acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Oh Mesterio is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Alves throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Mesterio seems to have got his legs back now.
Alves fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Alves forces Mesterio back against the ropes and clinches.

Alves lands an elbow just above Mesterio 's eye.

A left hand lands to the body for Alves .
Alves landing knees to the head.
Alves manages to break the clinch.
Alves lands a nice shot that snaps Mesterio's head back.
Alves lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
It's a brutal combination of punches from Alves ! Mesterio is backing up but he can't get away as Alves lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Mesterio and ends the fight. Great knockout.
