Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mick Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams comes to the cage accompanied by Put a Doink On It. Nathan Williams has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Nathan Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Mick Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin throws a wild body kick that Williams sees coming a mile off.
Nice sprawl there from Williams as Griffin shoots in.
Griffin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Williams swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Griffin looks for a takedown but Williams sprawls well.

Williams gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Griffin scores with a nice hook to the head.

Griffin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Williams feints and as Griffin raises his hands in defense, Williams changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Williams trying to control but Griffin is working from the bottom.

Griffin is looking for a triangle but Williams pushes his legs off easily.
Williams has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Williams accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Williams controlling from the top position.
Williams throwing strikes from guard but Griffin blocks nicely.

Williams controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Griffin looking for a guillotine here but Williams defends easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Griffin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Williams gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Williams in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Griffin is trying to keep Williams in close.
Griffin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Williams is breathing heavily.
Griffin is in the full mount, landing strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Williams tries to lock up and control but Griffin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Griffin punching from mount but Williams doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Griffin wants to control but instead Williams manages to regain half guard.
Griffin missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Griffin is looking for a kimura here.
Williams wants to get back to full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Griffin is trying to control the action in half guard but Williams is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Griffin with a poor takedown

and Williams holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Nathan Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mick Griffin.

Griffin jumps guard.
Griffin controls Williams momentarily but Williams frees himself.
Griffin wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Williams is now in half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Griffin tries to roll over but Williams keeps him under control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Nathan Williams will probably get the nod.

Griffin clinches but Williams breaks the clinch

and Williams counters with a shoot takedown. Griffin fights it but they end up in guard.
Williamsis looking to pass into half guard but Griffin pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Griffin is in guard.

Williams looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Griffin has picked Williams up and slammed him! Williams can't keep hold of the triangle and Griffin manages to pass to side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Griffin stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Mick Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Griffin fails with the takedown

and Williams counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Griffin!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Griffin is bucking up trying to escape but Williams cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Williams unloads with some shots from mount but Griffin bucks and avoids them well.

Griffin wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Griffin wants to control but Williams is keeping him busy.
Williams slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Griffin tries to free his leg and advance position but Williams is retaining full guard.
Griffin distracts Williams with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Williams wants to sweep but no luck.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Griffin shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Williams counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Griffin trying to keep a closed guard but Williams is proving a slippery customer.

Williams might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Griffin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Williams!
Griffin thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Griffin is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Williams can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Williams keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Griffin stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nathan Williams dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Griffin misses with a takedown

and Williams counters with a nice double leg into side control. Griffin won't be happy with that.
Griffin is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Williams off and has taken his back!

Griffin is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Williams has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Nathan Williams overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Griffin is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Williams is looking to stand back up. He's having to work hard to escape but eventually he manages it.

and Williams counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Williams.

Griffin is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Williams pulls his head out easily.

Williams decides to stand back up. Williams steps back and let's Griffin get back to his feet.
Nathan Williams is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Williams counters with a shoot takedown. Griffin fights it but they end up in guard.
Nathan Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mick Griffin.

Griffin swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Williams is now in Griffin's guard. A big mistake from Griffin there, giving up the dominant position!

Williams decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Williams blocks a head kick by Griffin.

Williams darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Williams wants to pass the guard but Griffin is defending well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Griffin tries to get to full guard but Williams has control of the leg.

And that's the end of the fight!
Nathan Williams showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Williams has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
