Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Barney Sumner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ned Alonso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ned Alonso!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sumner moves into range and clinches up with Alonso.
Alonso goes for a takedown in the clinch but Sumner prevents it.

Alonso breaks the clinch.
No joy there for Alonso, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Alonso rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sumner moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sumner circles away from the clinch attempt
and Sumner counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Alonso tries to clinch up but Sumner circles away and keeps his distance.

Alonso drives through with a takedown into Sumner's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Sumner wants to get back to his feet but Alonso is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Sumner utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Sumner wants to stand up but Alonso is controlling him.
Sumner trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Alonso postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Sumner is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Alonso is controlling him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Alonso looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sumner with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Alonso takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Alonso is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Alonso looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Sumner covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
