Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sami Holmes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

11 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nick James!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holmes fails to land the takedown.
Nick James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
James drives through with a takedown into guard.
James drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Holmes manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now James has Holmes in his guard.
Holmes trying to control but James is working from the bottom.
Holmes wants to pass the guard but James is keeping the position.
James looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Holmes trying to control the position from guard on top but James is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Holmes advances to half guard.
Holmes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so James is just riding it out for now. Holmes eventually gives up the hold.

Holmes is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
James is trying to maintain the position but Holmes is very close to passing his half guard.
James is trying to get back to full guard.
James moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Holmes missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
James had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Holmes defends it easily.
Holmes pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. James is keeping the position for now.

James tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Holmes scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
James escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Holmes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Holmes thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Holmes got a little sloppy there for a moment and James has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Holmes has managed to get both his arms back between James's legs - danger averted.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
James looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
James has his foot on Holmes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Holmes works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
James is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Holmes is aware though and is defending well.
James is looking for a triangle but Holmes pushes his legs off easily.
James is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Holmes defends well.

Holmes throws a strike but James rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

James changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Holmes fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Holmes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Holmes wants to pass the guard but James is keeping the position.
James is trying to control the position but Holmes postures up.
James is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Holmes frees his head nicely. Oh but James has switched to an armbar! Holmes is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
