PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Justus Sheehan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesper Rush (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sheehan's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, All I Need. Rush is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Tom Sawyer - Rush. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rush fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Rush looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Sheehan scores with a shot to the body.
Rush displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sheehan throws out the jab.
Jab, jab by Sheehan - just one landing.
Rush takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Sheehan manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Rush on his heels. He'll look to pass Rush's guard now, I'm sure.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rush stands up over Sheehan, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Rush throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sheehan works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Rush is pushing down on Sheehan's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sheehan is fighting to maintain full guard but Rush has managed to sneak the leg through.

Sheehan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rush pulls his head out easily.

Rush is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sheehan sees it coming and defends easily.

Sheehan is pressing down on Rush's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Rush drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rush jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Sheehan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rush can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That was a close round but I would say that Justus Sheehan will probably get the nod.

Sloppy strikes from Sheehan. Those never looked like landing.
Rush bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Rush fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Sheehan checks it well.
Sheehan throws a one two combo.
Rush blocks a jab.
Sheehan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rush circles away quickly and effectively.
Both fighters circling a little - Rush finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

and Rush counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Rush is looking to advance position but Sheehan has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Rush is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Rush has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Sheehan jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rush manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Rush dodges the ground and pound from Sheehan.

Rush is not content to let Sheehan control the position.

Rush gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Sheehan prevents Rush from improving his position.
Sheehan slows the pace down in half guard.
Sheehan is looking to take a break and control but Rush is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are battling for position here. Rush manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Sheehan has gone for a leg lock! Rush slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sheehan's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rush has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Sheehan has passed into side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rush holds on to Sheehan's head and controls the position momentarily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Jesper Rush will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Sheehan lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Rush at a distance.
Rush stuffs the takedown.
Sheehan lands an overhand right.
Rush shoots in looking for a takedown but Sheehan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rush's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Sheehan lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Rush can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Sheehan and Rush drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Sheehan.
